Volunteer Programs
Come Volunteer with Ammac!
- COMMUNITY ASSISTANT
- Ammac Community Volunteers have the opportunity to make a real difference in poorer communities in and around Monterrey, Mexico. Volunteers spend their days doing a variety of different programs. Most mornings are spent at the local market collecting food for distribution to outlying areas later in the day. Other ongoing special projects include working with a local orphanage (Casa de Hogar), spending time at elderly care facilities, building houses, and assisting medical/dental brigades.
- HOPE FOR CHILDREN
- Ammac’s Volunteers for Children work with a number of different children in the Monterrey area through different programs. Volunteers visit orphanages, teach English and hygiene classes to underprivileged children, work with Ammac in organizing special outings for the children to various locals in the city.
- CONSTRUCTION VOLUNTEER
- Ammac Construction Volunteers work with local architects, engineers, and families to build sturdy adobe housing for underprivileged families in the outlying areas of Monterrey. Volunteers need to be able to perform physical work in sometimes very hot conditions. Volunteers also work with families to improve there knowledge of self-sustainability and the incorporation of green roofs on houses. These roofs provide families with a way to provide either food for themselves or an opportunity to provide a more steady family income.
- SPECIAL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS WELCOME!
- Inspired by a past volunteer from England. Ammac wishes to open its volunteer opportunity to those who are often turned down by other programs.
- LOCAL VOLUNTEERS
